The Sumba Hotel School delivers a curriculum which encompasses a range of skills focusing on hospitality and sustainability. Students learn in beautiful, open-air classrooms and receive challenging and diverse lessons, delivered by our international teachers and volunteers. The majority of learning is delivered in English in order to encourage the progression of our students.

There are four main areas of hospitality in which we offer training

  1. Restaurant and Bar
  2. Culinary
  3. Front Office
  4. Housekeeping

Our students select the area of hospitality in which they prefer to study; their classes cover in-depth theory and provide opportunities to practically apply their knowledge.

We also offer classes in:

  1. English
  2. Computer Skills
  3. Life Skills
  4. Permaculture

Our curriculum aims to balance subjects including Hospitality, Sustainability and English alongside Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurship. Our aim is to produce career minded individuals, who possess the optimal balance of skills, knowledge and attitude.
